Dr. John Conway

Dr. Conway is the Co-Founder of RK March American Writing and has over 25 years in education and almost 20 years specializing in online education. He has experience teaching ESL as well as students of all ages. He has designed and taught writing courses of all kinds, including composition, business, technical, science, developmental, and fiction writing. He specializes in teaching non-native business executives written and oral English.

In addition to writing professionally, Dr. Conway has taught and consulted for over a dozen institutions including Clemson University, University of Texas Austin, University of Southern Indiana, and the University of Phoenix. 

Dr. Joanna Turner

Dr. Turner brings more than a decade of experience designing, developing, and delivering classes to students and professionals across disciplines. In addition to having taught Rhetoric, Writing, and English courses at The University of Texas at Austin as well as NYOS Charter School, she has extensive experience with instructional design, online course content development, and distance learning innovations, serving tens of thousands of students across the state of Texas with high-quality experiences that prepare them for successful professional futures. 

Since 2009, Dr. Turner has also coached students and professionals on their writing in a variety of settings, including university writing centers and as a Writing Assessment Specialist and Instructor of Record for dozens of dual enrollment rhetoric and writing courses. She also manages a freelance editing service, which focuses on supporting graduate students and professionals in times of career transition. 

Dr. Christopher M. Conway

Dr. Conway has 20 years of experience teaching onground undergraduate and graduate-level courses and over 10 years of online teaching experience. Most of his courses include written assignments and written feedback as a primary focus. He also has extensive experience providing feedback and guidance on PhD and masters-level students’ written products, including theses, dissertations, and scientific manuscripts. 

Dr. Conway has written and published over 70 scientific publications including journal articles, book chapters, and conference proceedings. He collaborates with several international research groups including in the UK, China, and Australia and has given a number of scientific presentations at research conferences outside the U.S. including in the UK, France, and Spain.

Dr. Reginald Ecarma

Dr. Ecarma has taught at the college level over 25 years, teaching advanced news writing, writing for print media, media writing, media legal writing, speech writing, advanced communication, news and feature writing, business writing, opinion writing, and public relations campaigns and writing.

He is a published author and full senior professor at Bryan College. He has taught at many top U.S. universities including Florida International University, the University of South Carolina, University of Louisville, University of Kentucky, and Furman University. He has founded two public relations minors in two universities, and led university committees including academic integrity committee. 

Dr. Connie Steel

Dr. Connie Steel’s passion for promoting access to excellent education in English writing stems from the conviction that the right to free speech in a democracy presumes the right to a great education.  She served for seven years as the team lead for Rhetoric for the OnRamps dual enrollment initiative and for three years as Assistant Director for the Department of Rhetoric and Writing at the University of Texas at Austin.  Steel’s writing program administration and educational development experience includes ten years leading professional learning institutes and faculty trainings.  Her scholarly interests include human rights rhetoric, rhetorics of identity, and material culture.     

Steel earned her PhD and MA in English at the University of Texas at Austin and a BS in International Area Studies at Drexel University.  Steel has been the recipient of several fellowships and awards including an Andrew Mellon Technology Enhance Learning Fellowship at Carnegie Mellon University, a Social Science Research Council Pre-Dissertation fellowship, the Hairston Teaching prize, an AJ Drexel Presidential Scholarship, and a National Merit Scholarship.  She volunteers for the Austin Lawyers Guild as a Legal Observer.
