From our roots as a communications consultancy focused on higher education and not for profits, RK March has expanded to also serve international clients who want to improve their messaging to an English-speaking audience, need to build a better understanding of American culture and language, and want assistance with a broad range of daily writing tasks.
In addition to our ongoing work in strategic communications for nonprofits, RK March has created RK March American Writing, a globally-connected, online service for companies and organizations whose leadership, employees, or students do not speak English as a first language. RK March American Writing serves as both a professional and educational resource, offering customized courses for businesses, webinars, and direct support from a team of American English writing experts and online instructors.
RK March American Writing is co-founded by Dr. John Conway, founder of iEducation Technologies, American Communication International, and the Conway Institute of American Language and Writing.

Who We are
Kurt Haenicke
Kurt Haenicke has worked as a professional writer, editor, and higher education executive for more than 25 years.
He is a national leader in the field of development and advancement communications and has built and managed some of the largest and most complex programs in the nonprofit and higher education world.
Kurt has been the communications leader in multi-million and multi-billion dollar fundraising campaigns. Among his career highlights are serving as the chief communications officer for the alumni relations and development communications office at the University of Chicago as well as overseeing advancement communications at Illinois Institute of Technology. His teams have won numerous major awards and honors and continue to influence and lead the field. At RK March, he has used his expertise to help executives and teams at some of the nation’s top universities and colleges reach their goals.
Kurt is well known for his collaborative style and ability to produce original creative work. His background as a published writer and educator has given him distinctive insights that have helped him get the very best results out of communications teams. Above all, Kurt brings optimism and a positive attitude to every project he undertakes. He believes in the power of motivated groups to work together to effect real change and results.
Dr. John Conway
Dr. John Conway is the Co-Founder of RK March American Writing and the Conway Institute of American Language and Writing. He has spent more than 20 years in education and 15 years specializing in online education as well as tutoring ESL students of all ages. He has experience teaching not only ESL but writing courses in a variety of forms, including composition, business writing, technical writing, science writing, developmental writing, and fiction writing. In his 20 years he has taught a wide variety of students, including traditional and non-traditional. He has specialized in teaching non-native business executives written and oral English.
Dr. Conway is an expert in creating online courses that are effective and engaging and has experience with a variety of online platforms including Moodle, Blackboard, eCollege, Desire2Learn, Canvas, and Angel. He has taught and consulted for more than a dozen schools.
Dr. Conway has published in a variety of forms including fiction, feature writing, non-fiction essays, writing for the web and academic articles. He has experience in public relations and marketing as well as years of experience in business writing.
Michael Haenicke, European Operations
With close to twenty years experience in IT and tech sales, Michael heads European operations for RK March International. Based in the Bremen, Germany area, he is fluent in both German and English and has lived and studied in the U.S.
Since 2004, Michael has been involved in transatlantic sales and business development, leading sales teams and strategy for IT companies pursuing international business initiatives and global markets.
